The Virus Mutant is an enemy encountered in System Shock (Remake). It features some slight appearance changes from the original.
Overview[]
Virus Mutants are former members of the crew that were mutant with the V-5 mutagen virus, that would later evolve into the many.
Strategy[]
They are only encountered in certain areas and when killed give off bio-contamination. When encountered, many times than not, it will be a group of 3-4 enemies at once that have both ranged and melee attacks. It is best to try to shoot them with a ranged weapon while actively moving in-between attacks to avoid their range attacks. Another option would be to hind behind a corner and wait for them to approach using the Laser Rapier, but be mindful of the AoE zone left behind when killed.
