Music Fix and Revamp is a mod released for System Shock (Remake) designed to fix a bug/problem in the game that prevented music from playing properly.
It even received positive feedback from the game's composer Jonathan Peros who mentioned it is closer to what was meant for the game.
Official Description[]
All in-game music has been newly mixed for better balance, higher volume, and NO MORE FADE-OUTS.
The music in the remake very rarely plays, and even when it does, there's always a point where it just stops and never comes back. This mod fixes that issue, making the music behave just like it does on Executive (AKA it's always playing and never fades out).
But even with that fixed there were other issues, a lot of instruments had a very low "Chance to Play" every loop, for example: the main melody on the Bridge only had a 25% chance of playing (Why Nightdive?). Since the Bridge also has the longest loop, this just makes it so that you pretty much never hear it, so i increased the chance to play on every instrument to at least 50%.
And then there's the mixing, which is... questionable at best, there were A LOT of instruments that were way too quiet and a few that were too loud, so the whole thing ended up sounding like a mess. I spent about 2 months rebalancing every track, making them sound closer to how they do on the OST and pretty much giving them new life. As a bonus, this mod also fixes the music on the main menu to loop properly and also changes the intro music to have a quick fade-out instead of an abrupt cut.
I'm very happy with how this turned out and i would love to hear your thoughts and experience with this mod.
