The I.C.E. Drill is a Cyberspace software program in the System Shock Remake.
Overview[]
The I.C.E Drill is a program specially designed to cut through I.C.E. nodes that sometimes protect a security program or barrier from being damaged/opened. It looks similar to a white drill.
Combat Analysis[]
I.C.E. Drill functions like a guided missile---it requires a lock-on before it can be fired. It is mainly used to disable I.C.E. nodes protecting a security program or barrier switch, making them vulnerable to Pulser Combat, but can be used as a weapon like the former as well. The drills can be deflected by enemy fire, so care must be taken when firing it against a program head-on. Fire on the move to lure the security programs to fire in other directions so that the drills can hit their targets.
The lock-on circle for the I.C.E. Drill is quite large, and there is no way to lock-on a specific target. This may cause problems when multiple targets gather together, as the I.C.E. Drills may go for an unintended target instead.
