Orbital Satellite Alpha-005 reports that the Beta Grove locking clamps have been disengaged and the grove has successfully jettisoned.
Beta grove has an infestation that SHODAN planned on using on Earth's population. The player was able to make it to the executive level, enable jettison in the 3 remaining groves, then repair a maintenance circuit purposely destroyed by SHODAN, and finally make it back to the executive level to jettison the grove.
Beta Grove crashes on Tau Ceti V, many light years away from the Sol System. 42 years later, the mutants inhabiting the grove have developed a conscious mind called "The Many" in which the Soldier in System Shock 2 eventually does battle with. It is assumed that Beta Grove must have entered a wormhole or had somehow been towed to Tau Ceti V as the distance from Earth is much too far for a convention jettison thrust to take it there that quickly.
The first grove that had been jettisoned, Gamma Grove, contained about a dozen Tri-Optimum executives attempting to flee the station. SHODAN disabled life support just before the Grove left the station. It is possible SHODAN had transferred its consciousness into Gamma Grove just like it did with Beta Grove. The location of Gamma Grove today is completely unknown. (System Shock 3?)
