The ER-90 Blaster is a weapon found in System Shock.
Overview
This new laser weapon fires a pulse of high-energy ultraviolet light. The built-in liquid nitrogen cooling system allows for high-intensity damage.
The Blaster can be found on the Flight Deck in the room accessible from the NW convection shaft. It is a quite potent weapon comparable at the highest setting with the Magnum 2100 Pistol. However inspective players may find RW-45 Ion Pulse Rifle even earlier which is superior in every way.
Trivia
- Most of the weapon names in System Shock are derived from the initials of the games developers. In this case, Erik Ray.
- The animation frame of this weapon firing is actually not shown in the game itself, even if present in the files. This applies to all versions except the Source Port update, where it can be enabled using "Show All Weapon Frames" game option.
