Cortex Reaver Challenge is a small fan-mission for System Shock.
It was released on May 8 2017[1] as a proof-of-concept for the level editor from the deck package of InkyBlackness [2].
Description[]
This is a single map archive, to be started as a new game. The player starts in a big room, with a Laser Rapier, targeting hardware and a shield hardware placed in front of them, and they have to fight an endless stream of Cortex Reavers. Energy charge stations are in the four corners, and players must be careful which ones they use. How many reavers can you slay? There is no restoration chamber...
Update for System Shock: Enhanced Edition[]
To support the modding system of the enhanced edition, this fan-mission was updated with corresponding mission file.

| Pick up the Laser Rapier, shield, and targeting hardware then target the Cortex Reavers to find where they are, activate the shields and attack them. Try and stay moving to avoid being hit. If you run out of energy then rush to one of the four corners. |
