The Anti-Radiation Hypo is an item in System Shock 2. When used, the amount of radiation already accumulated by the player through environmental hazards is lowered. They are one of the two possible non-harmful ways of dealing with current in-system Radiation (the second being decontamination areas sometimes located nearby the radiated zones). The hypo affords no preventative benefits, and is best consumed after exposure to radiation to reduce damage.

They are affected by Pharmo-Friendly O/S Upgrade, making them a bit more useful, especially having absorbed heavier radiation doses.

Anti-Radiation Hypos can be found scattered about the world and can be purchased from Replicators. There is a 10% chance of them being dropped by destroyed Maintenance Robots.

Lore

Anti-Radiation Hypo injects small amounts of an agent commercially known as NukeTralizer into the user's system, shortening the half-life of radioactive compounds.

Due to rushed construction and deployment, the Von Braun suffered frequent coolant leaks. While these leaks were easily detected and usually quickly fixed, the radioactive coolant proved hazardous to the Von Braun's overworked engineering crew. Anti-Radiation Hypos were distributed among the ship's crew to mitigate the issue, explaining their ubiquity aboard the ship.
